Current Projects

Public Health Instagram Posts

Many of our posts involve breaking down scientific articles and journals into easier-to-read forms, allowing important research to reach a wider audience. Some of our other posts promote safe practices during the pandemic. For example, we have created Instagram posts describing how to properly wear a mask and how to effectively double mask.

Hygiene Drive
We are currently planning a hygiene drive, where members will assemble kits with items like tissues, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, tampons, razors, and hand sanitizer. We will then work with an organization to donate these kits to homeless people in our local community.

Blogs

This year, we are planning on writing informational blogs on a variety of different topics including COVID-19, mental health, and other public health issues.

Policy Memos & Advocacy Work
Past topics have included how-to's for creating effective social media/email campaigns, institutional racism in healthcare, environmental policy, immigration, vote-by-mail, etc.

COVID-19 Pandemic Resource Spreadsheet
Created and distributed a spreadsheet of important resources during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Past Projects

Pandemic Pals Initiative
To help combat campus isolation, we launched the Pandemic Pals Initiative in the Spring of 2021. In the Pandemic Pals Initiative, students unfamiliar with eachother were matched based on similar interests and were given an allowance to grab a meal near campus-- giving students an opportunity to meet new people, enjoy a break, and support local businesses.

Fundraiser with the Coalition for the Homeless
To help support our local communities while also maintaining social distance practices, we created a virtual fundraiser for the Coalition for the Homeless, a service organization that supports homeless individuals in New York City, in the Fall of 2020. During the fundraiser, we sold masks and shirts and donated the proceeds to the Coalition for the Homeless.

Double Masking Social Media Campaign
To promote public health education about double masking practices on campus, we launched the Double Masking Social Media Campaign in Spring 2020. During the Campaign, students enrolled at Princeton University were able to snap a picture of themselves wearing two masks for a chance to win prizes. The Initiative was in partnership with Princeton University's Projects Board.

Encouragement Video
In the Spring of 2020, we connected with local hospital centers and retirement/veteran homes and bring students groups on campus together to send thoughtful messages to those most affected by the pandemic.
